The International Festival of French Song (the 1st in Dublin) will take place from 22 - 26 May 2006. Organised by the Alliance Française in Dublin and the French Embassy in Ireland with the label le Loup du Faubourg and the association l’Art de la Chanson Francophone the Festival aims to promote French and French-speaking cultural heritage through the repertoire of its songs. Its ambition is to ensure that song will live as a tool to aid the memory in the same way as literature and music. The festival will welcome French, French-speaking and Irish artists, for cabaret-style concerts, so that Irish audiences will become better acquainted with contemporary French-speaking work.
